Meeting covered progress on the renewable energy feasibility study, community engagement ideas and a CPRE National Lottery Fund bid for a village-wide domestic solar audit.
Notes:
- Initial visits done for potential wind / solar generation sites around Bonsall. Initial conversations / visits also done with Bonsall School, St James Church and the village hall and analysis underway for rooftop solar options.
- John Beardmore (consultant) also working on engagement with the two planning authorities (Derbyshire Dales and Peak District National Park) and National Grid.
- Research discussed on other community energy schemes in Derbyshire (and nearby) and their community engagement efforts.
- Bonsall Energy Group has booked a stall at the carnival at the end of July and discussing ideas for what to do on the day.
- BEG is also part of a National Lottery fund bid by CPRE, which would include funding for assessing Bonsall’s domestic solar potential (ie how effective solar panels would be on which roofs in the village).
