Meeting covered village renewables feasibility study progress, success of village Climate Literacy course, and advice for residents on domestic solar and financial support.
Notes:
- Feasibility project site visits now in progress at potential wind and ground-mounted solar locations as well as at community buildings with the potential for solar on the roof.
- Making progress with engaging the right people at National Grid and the planning authorities
- BEG is requesting a stall at Bonsall Carnival to provide information on progress of the project and answer questions and comments that people in the village may have.
- Carbon Literacy course went really well and we had ten in attendance. Thanks to all who participated and Change Agents for such excellent facilitation.
- Thanks to Wirksworth Community Land Trust (WCLT) for offering advice to a Bonsall resident on the possibilities of domestic solar installation. CLT suggested Warmer Derbyshire (run by Marches Energy Agency and funded by Derbyshire Dales District Council) for advice to people who are in “fuel poverty”. They can help check if people fit their eligibility for receiving help with energy saving services, and if not, what else might be possible. Warmer Derbyshire’s phone number is 0800 677 1332.
- BEG renewed membership of Community Energy England
