Meeting covered CEF application resubmission, BEG membership, the Bonsall Climate Literacy course and Climate Awareness sessions.
Notes:
- Following clarifications requested by the Net Zero Hub Midlands board, BEG’s Community Energy Fund proposal has been redrafted. To be resubmitted this week.
- Discussion on community solar options and engagement with community and commercial buildings. Some interesting schemes to explore, such as Big Solar (currently working with Darley Dale Town Council) and Energy Local.
- Discussion on BEG membership and inviting more interested people to be a part of the group’s governing body (as a Community Benefit Society).
- Sign ups now open the for the free, certified Climate Literacy course, organised in collaboration with Change Agents UK. Decision to open the course up to people from neighbouring villages if we have haven’t reached capacity through Bonsall residents sign ups by 27 Feb.
- BEG will also agree a date with Change Agents for the subsequent community Climate Awareness session (shorter, non-certified evening session) in April / May of this year
